Ambassador Program

Bike Ambassador Program

MISSION

To help ensure that riding the pathways on Hilton Head Island is a safe, fun, and memorable experience.

THE PROGRAM

Our volunteers provide directions, maps, safety and etiquette tips, and limited first aid and mechanical assistance for any cyclist in need. They carry maps, safety flyers, and can provide information on local bicycle shops. You can identify Bike Ambassadors wearing yellow vests or t-shirts. Ambassadors typically patrol the Island’s pathways along two routes: One in Sea Pines and the other along Pope Avenue and William Hilton Parkway. You may also see them stationed at pathway information kiosks.

WHEn WILL I SEE A BIKE AMBASSADOR?

The Ambassador Program are particularly active during the summer months, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Other Ambassadors ride free-lance routes times of their own choosing year-round.

HOW CAN I BECOME A BIKE AMBASSADOR?

All volunteers must complete a safety training and instructional course prior to participating.
